Joe is courting his new girl, Millie, and trying desperately to get under her socks. Two lovebirds picnick in the park on a lovely spring afternoon. A dance number ensues featuring other park enthusiasts; jugglers, mimes, cops, even animated birds and bees join in the gaiety.
Joe and Millie stroll down the boulevard. Millie is stuffing her face with food (as she often does) while Joe continues singing about the mood of amore that surrounds them. Another elaborate dance routine breaks out; this time it’s the sailors and nurses swinging to the beat during the big V-Day parade!
The music calms down and the moon comes out as Joe and Millie share a gondola ride for the third and final verse. Joe makes one last impassioned pitch to her plethora of toes but to no avail. Millie finally lays down the law as she boots Joe overboard and tells him that they must be married before there is to be any hanky-panky.
